Interim Advancement Leadership for Morton Arboretum

Morton Arboretum is a world class Arts and Culture organization based in Lisle, IL. Founded in 1922 by Joy Morton, The Arboretum has over 1,700 acres of tree filled landscapes, sixteen miles of hiking trails, nine miles of roads, 100,000 specimens and 4,000 different plants. The Arboretum attracts up to 1.2 million visitors annually. Morton Arboretum has an internationally recognized tree science program that distinguishes it from most other arboreta.

Fissinger Fundraising, specifically Peter Fissinger, was retained to serve as Morton Arboretum’s Interim Vice President for Development from March 1, 2025 to October 31 2025 as the Arboretum sought a new permanent Vice President. During this period, each of the five team leaders in the development office reported to Peter. Peter reported directly to Morton Arboretum President and CEO Jill Koski.

The goal of the engagement was to act as a resource to development team leaders and to the entire development staff, monitor fundraising and membership progress relative to annual budgeted goals, attend development committee meetings, interact with donors and donor prospects as needed, and interact with other Morton Arboretum leadership staff when needed. All above stated goals were accomplished during the engagement.
